Dr. Li Chen, DACM is a state-certified licensed Acupuncturist with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. She is also a national board-certified Chinese herbalist.
Dr. Li grew up in a family that has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine for generations. Her grandmother lived to 100 years old with a medication-free, healthy lifestyle. The food-as-medicine way was instilled in Li as a child. She was trained in a doctoral program in China for traditional Chinese medicine and Acupuncture and practiced there for 3 years before she moved to Los Angeles in 2005. After a short visit to Oregon that fall, she fell in love with the natural beauty of Oregon, so she joined Chen’s acupuncture office in Portland in the winter of 2006. She joined the Bio Foot Wellness Center in 2014.
Dr. Li’s mission statement as a practitioner is "life is better without pain, so let’s work together." Over the past two decades she has been attending advanced training seminars globally. She is passionate about continued learning, which she believes is the way to improve her ability to provide the best care for her patients. She also strongly believes that health is about the intersection of mind, body, and spirit. Her holistic approach has been proven to have successful results for the past 18 years. She is grateful to serve her patients and share with them this rich and profound traditional and natural medicine. She strives to provide the best service to her patients through acupuncture, herbs, Asian massage, cupping, moxibustion, nutrients, and exercise as a means to balance both the physical and emotional aspects of their health. Li specializes in pain relief for auto, work and sports injuries, headaches, chronic fatigue, arthritis, and women’s health conditions.
In her spare time, Dr. Li likes to read, travel, cook, and play outdoor activities with her friends, family, and dog. She loves hiking and camping in the woods, which reminds her the bamboo farm where she was raised. She thinks cooking is like meditating, so she often cooks for fun and without recipes. In fact, there are more than 70 spices in her kitchen that she uses to cook with. She also thinks food tastes better when we share, so she enjoys cooking for her friends and family whenever she can.
